Key Deposits

When you inspect residential premises, the lessor or agent may ask you to pay a key deposit. If you pay a key deposit, you must be given a receipt.

When you return the key, this money must be refunded to you, whether or not you proceed with an application for tenancy. If you pay a key deposit, this money should be refunded when you return the key.
