Locks and Keys
The lessor, agent or provider must supply and maintain the locks that are necessary to ensure the premises are reasonably secure. Locks and keys include security devices such as garage remote controls, access cards, window locks and mail box locks.
In residential tenancies, if there is only one tenant, you must be given a key for each lock. If there is more than one tenant, you must be given one full set of keys (e.g. for internal doors, windows) and entry keys for each other tenant (that is, for each person named on the tenancy agreement).
In rooming accommodation, each resident must be given a key to their room and any keys needed to access the building or common areas.
