At the beginning of the tenancy the landlord is required to provide the tenant with two signed inspection sheets, which must include comprehensive details of fixtures, furniture and other contents in the premises and their condition at the commencement of the tenancy.
After both inspection sheets have been completed and signed by the tenant, the tenant must keep one and return the other copy to the landlord. The inspection sheets may be adapted to suit particular premises. Care should be taken when filling out these forms, as they may be called upon in the event of a dispute or for repayment of the security bond at the end of the tenancy.
